Mid-Autumn Festival Gala and First Pink Ribbon Care Ambassador Appointment Ceremony

October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, It happens to be Mid-Autumn Festival, a special day for family reunion and celebration. In order to arouse concern for health and breast cancer prevention and honor the principle of humanistic care for foreign patients, an activity themed on “Family, Health, Reunion” was held in St.Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou to pass on the positiveness against cancer. In the ceremony, three breast cancer patients were appointed as the Pink Ribbon Care Ambassador for their courageous anticancer experience to inspire more patients.

In the afternoon, the event began with a sincere greeting from Tu Xiaoming, the general manager of St.Stamford MCHG. he expressed his best wishes to patients from several countries, such as Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, etc. The staff of several overseas offices scattered in these countries also extended their best regards.

The activity consist of sections as art performance, playing games, lucky draw. All patients involved learned about Chinese tradition and enjoyed a wonderful time.

Short play “the moon goddess and her mortal husband Hou Yi”

For a better understanding on Chinese culture, a short play based on the folktale, “the moon goddess and her mortal husband Hou Yi” and poem reading were presented.

An Indonesian patient said gladly that, “this is my first time celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival in China. I’m so happy to personally involve in activity and appreciate traditional culture of China and cherished an unforgettable memory.

Patients are playing games

“ Our family emigrated to Southeastern countries when I was young. It’s been 30 years since the last time I celebrated this special holiday. I felt the warmth among families through thie activity.” A Malaysian Chinese said with great satisfaction.

Pink Ribbon Care Ambassador appointment ceremony

As an important procedure, First Pink Ribbon Care Ambassador Appointment Ceremony was also held at the same time. Mr. Tu Xiaoming, the general manager of St.Stamford MCHG advocated concern over breast cancer prevention and treatment. “ Breast cancer is the No. 1 killer among women around the world and timely detection and treatment is quiet important. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. More women should be well informed of breast cancer prevention and treatment.

Therefore three breast cancer patients serve as Pink Ribbon Care Ambassadors to help more female patients, providing assistance and consultation based on their own experiences and spread the concept of pink ribbon.
