Malaysian Delegation visited Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou

On May 9th, a Malaysian delegation which is made up of members respectively from Sin Chew Daily, Guang Ming Daily, China Press, Nanyang Siang Pau, Malaysiakini Chinese Version, FCPAAM, MCMA, Sabah Colorectal Cancer Association, Penang Anticancer Association, in total of 28 members visited Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. It aims to strengthen the interaction and cooperation between China and Malaysia, also to promote the transnational medical development.

Wang Huaizhong, President of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou first expressed his warm welcome to the delegation, and then he introduced the 18 minimally invasive therapies, Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and other 60 value-added services in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou. President Wang also emphasized the achievement and development MCHG has made in recent years. In 2014, MCHG has been successfully accredited by JCI (Joint Commission International), which assesses and evaluates with strict standards in the world and stands for the highest level of medical service and hospital management; MCHG also upgraded its wards and founded a Breast Cancer Center. Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou always devotes itself to providing patients with better treatment and services.

In order to help the delegation get to know the characteristics of Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, the delegation interviewed the Multidisciplinary Team which is made up of members from the Department of Oncology, TCM, Interventional Therapy and Radiology. The delegation asked questions about the characteristics, advantages and significance of the Multidisciplinary Team, and fully understood the outstanding advantage of the treatment model of Multidisciplinary Team for cancer treatment.

Later, the delegation visited the Breast Cancer Center. Director Dai Wenyan introducd not only the treatment features of Breast Cancer Center, but also the advantages of interventional therapy, cryotherapy and other minimally invasive therapies. Director Dai explained that minimally invasive therapy can minimize the harm to human body and remain patient’s breast.

A live broadcast of interventional therapy and cryotherapy was specially arranged to help the delegation get a full understanding of interventional therapy and cryotherapy. Treating cancer with minimally invasive therapy is becoming a new trend because of its advantages of small trauma, few toxic side effects and significant efficacy.

The multidisciplinary team is being interviewed

In the afternoon, with the accompany of He Liangqiong, director of the Nursing Department, the delegation visited the newly decorated wards which are equipped with digital system, the International Remote Consultation Center and the Breast Cancer Center. The delegation also talked with patients from Malaysia, they were satisfied when they knew that patients here live a happy life.

At last, the delegation participated in the Awards Ceremony for Anticancer Warriors. On the awards ceremony, anticancer warriors shared their anticancer experiences, which have brought confidence and encouragement to many people.

After the visit, the delegation indicated that they know more about MCHG. They highly praised the minimally invasive therapy and medical services in Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou; they also indicated that they wanted to have a further cooperation with Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou, so as to make contributions to the development of transnational medical development.
