During the lecture, Prof. Lin Lizhu talked about the role of Chinese medicine in lung cancer treatment, especially in alleviating the toxic side effects of radiotherapy, which has shown remarkable efficacy.


She mentioned that lung cancer is still the leading cause of death from cancer in the world, in the treatment of lung cancer, although chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy are effective, the adverse effects brought to the patients cannot be ignored. Such as nausea and vomiting, bone marrow suppression, diarrhea, skin rash, cancer-related fatigue, and other side effects during the treatment process, which affect the patient's quality of life and even start to resist the treatment. Therefore, the advantages of Chinese medicine come to the fore. China has established a set of theoretical systems of Chinese medicine and therapeutic methods to deal with the adverse effects of tumor treatment, which can help patients complete the treatment smoothly.
