Volunteer Training Lecture on Non-border Cancer Prevention

On October 30th, the 11th session of “Hand in Hand, Away Cancer Goes” was held as scheduled. Many Thailand patients and their families actively participated in this lecture.

Director Pan delivered the lecture and he introduced how cancer came into being, and its distribution, treatment, etc. He told us that the tumor incidence was mostly distributed in middle or east part due to gene heredity, diet habit, pollution caused by industrial development. Cancer posts a threat to live but we should not fear it. Nowadays, cancer is defined as a chronic disease, which could be cured. In the aspect of therapeutic method, Director Pan told us that cancer treatment included traditional surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and the latest minimally invasive therapy. People know the pros and cons of traditional surgery so he introduced the advantages of interventional therapy, cryotherapy, natural therapy, microwave ablation, etc. He claimed that minimally invasive therapy brought the advantages of small trauma, quick recovery, good effect, etc and was widely applied to tumor treatment.

Also, Director Pan also told us the some do’s and don’ts, which patient should pay attention to after treatment.

After the lecture, patients and families raised many questions actively. One patient asked whether natural therapy was applicable to non-tumor patients. Director Pan carefully explained, “Immunotherapy could bring good effect to improve the immunity. Non-tumor could effectively prevent cancer by natural therapy.” Many participants asked questions about the diet during cancer treatment and the lecture about cancer diet will be held in the future.

This is the 11th session of volunteer training lecture on non-border cancer prevention, which aims to help more cancer patients. Many patients actively participated in it and shared new technology to more people and spread the confidence and love to other cancer patients.

*Surgery, in addition to the appropriate chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are effective in treating early cancer, but certain patients in late stage of cancer may not be tolerate surgery well as they can be relatively weak. A combination of carefully planned minimally invasive therapy, chemotherapy or radiotherapy can effectively reduce the side effects and discomfort of treatment and may help patient get better efficacy.
